AUTHOR GUIDELINES

 

The Brazilian Federal District Public Defensorship (RDPDF) receives unpublished works written in Portuguese, English, Spanish and Italian.

Articles must have a minimum of 15 (fifteen) and a maximum of 25 (twenty-five) pages, excluding pages of bibliographic references, written in accordance with the standards of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT) and the formatting rules below. Reviews must have from 5 (five) to 10 (ten) pages.

Longer or shorter texts may be published, at the discretion of the Responsible Editor, if their length is justified.

To ensure confidentiality at the time of evaluation of the contribution, while preserving the double blind review, the author (s) should avoid making any personal identification during the body of the text.

 

The text should contain:

a) Title of the article in Portuguese (or in the language in which the text is written), with direct relevance to the content of the article;

b) Translation of the title into English ("TITLE")

c) Abstract in Portuguese (or in the language in which the text is written) with a minimum of 100 (one hundred) and a maximum of 250 (two hundred and fifty) words;

d) Up to 5 (five) keywords in Portuguese (or in the language in which the text is written), separeted by comma;

e) Abstract (translation from Abstract to English);

f) Keywords (translation of keywords into English);

g) References at the end of the text, according to ABNT rules.

h) Quotations should be made in APA. Footnotes should be used for additional but relevant information to the article, which must strictly follow the ABNT standard, Times New Roman font, size 10, single spacing, justified.

 

Articles and reviews must have the following formatting:

sheet size: A4
margins: left = 2 cm, right = 2 cm, upper = 2 cm and lower = 2 cm
font: times new roman, size 12
space between lines: 1.5 (one and a half).
alignment: justified.
do not put space between paragraphs ("enter").
Article Title / Review: Centered, uppercase, bold, font size 14.

Highlighted direct quotes should be avoided only when they are essential to the content of the contribution. They should be enclosed in the body of the text, using quotation marks, when they do not exceed 3 (three) lines. If they have 4 (four) lines or more, they should be highlighted, with 4cm indentation, on the left, justified, with simple line spacing and font size 11.

 

REFERENCES

For references to works cited or mentioned in the text, the author-date (APA) system should be used. Indication of the authors' names in the text should be done in a standardized manner, mentioning their LAST NAME, year of work and page (eg LAST NAME, YEAR, p.).

In this system, the source is indicated by the surname of each author or by the name of each responsible entity until the first punctuation mark, followed by the date of publication of the document and page (s), the citation. , in the case of direct quotation, separated by commas and in parentheses;

 

Examples:

1) In the text: The library as a whole needs to function as a dynamic source of culture, which must meet the various needs of its patrons, be they children or adults, students or researchers. (OAK, 1972, p.28).

In the list of references: CARVALHO, Irene Mello. Introduction to the psychology of human relations. Rio de Janeiro: FGV, 1972.

 

2) In the text: Gil (1995, p. 67), in the data analysis, emphasizes that "the answers provided by the researched elements tend to be the most varied".

In the list of references: GIL, Antônio Carlos. Methods and techniques of social research. Sao Paulo: Atlas, 1995.

 

3) In the text: The user should be familiar with the techniques and routines of the library. Because one of the library's functions is to help the user want and seek the information they need. (LIMA; SOARES, 1983, p. 98).

In the reference list: LIMA, Maria Consuelo Xavier; SOARES, Ana Maria. The librarian and the development of research. Journal of the UFMG School of Library Science. Belo Horizonte, v.12, n.1, p. 97-112, 1983.

Note: for three or more authors, the author may use the expression "et al" (eg AMARAL et al, 2018, p. 320).

 

4) In the text: According to Lakatos and Marconi (1999), social interaction is the mutually oriented social action of two or more individuals in contact ...

In the list of references: LAKATOS, Eva Maria; MARCONI, Marina de Andrade. General sociology. Sao Paulo: Atlas, 1999.

 

5) In the text: "The author-date system should be used for quotations in the text and the numeric for explanatory notes." (BRAZILIAN ASSOCIATION OF TECHNICAL STANDARDS, 2002, NBR 10520).
